ABOUT: LOVE Wichita

Our Vision

To seek the peace and prosperity of Wichita through acts of service and prayer believing that our city will be forever changed, one life at a time.

How did LOVE Wichita begin?

LOVE Wichita began in 2009 as a vision of Eastminster Church in collaboration with Mayor Carl Brewer for a faith-based day of service to seek the prosperity of our city.

The event grew strong its first year and a total of 20 churches completed 150 projects.

Last year, more than 40 churches worked together on 240+ projects. The vision has now grown to include churches of all denominations and walks of life to serve together for the good of our city.

What is LOVE Wichita?

LOVE Wichita helps churches and small groups who wish to serve those in need throughout our city with online project and team management tools.  We help churches connect with other churches by serving together in Jesus name.  Projects availabe for those in need primarily include those who are low income, single parents elderly, disabled, widows or widowers.   We also work closely with our local government leaders to identify projects in public areas of the city such as cleaning and beautifying parks and public access areas in order to "serve the city in which we have been called to exile".  We partner with evangelical churches from across the city, no matter their denomination, size or location; unite in Jesus' name and LOVE the city of Wichita. Every year, thousands of volunteers spread out across the city to live out Jesus' love through service.
